That’s the pitch for Turbo Fire, the latest complete home DVD fitness program from Beachbody.
Turbo Fire is Chalene Johnson’s long-awaited follow up to her highly-acclaimed ChaLEAN Extreme and Turbo Jam.
TurboFire is an extreme workout series based on the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) fitness philosophy. The workouts are brief in length but performed at maximum intensity, pushing your body into the red zone, while Chalene urges you to give 120% effort throughout each interval.
Psychologically, it’s easier to dedicate yourself to maximum effort when the interval is relatively short, compared to the mental hurdle of preparing for a grueling 30 or 45 minute workout.
Recent fitness studies indicate that a HIIT workout can shed as much as 9 times the fat as a regular cardiovascular session. The program increases metabolism and fires the fitness furnace, continuing to burn fat long after a workout is completed.
Turbo Fire will consist of 12 workouts on 10 DVDs available in basic and deluxe versions. The full package from Beachbody also includes a workout calendar, nutritional guide, 12 week class schedule, resistance band, measuring tape and more.
Turbo Fire is a unquestionably a high intensity cardio workout, but Chalene Johnson designed the program with all fitness levels in mind. The DVDs feature a “modifier” working out next to Charlene performing the routines in an alternate, low impact, lower intensity manner. This will allow beginners to build up gradually as their strength and endurance increase.
Beachbody has produced a plethora of highly effective fitness programs. So how is Turbo Fire different? INSANITY Workout: Turbo Fire’s HIIT workouts are much shorter and include stretching and sculpting workouts. P90X: Turbo Fire doesn’t require equipment, is cardio focused, and less geared toward building muscle mass. Turbo Jam: Turbo Fire is more extreme with the focus on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
